Key Note Topic: Sunny Future for the Solar Industry
Dr. KRS Murthy
CEO, ICubed

Abstract:

The solar industry has taken a few decades to ripe into a promising the industry for applications in utility, industrial, military, commercial, consumer and personal areas. Recent accelerated improvements in efficiency, manufacturing, advanced materials, reliability and long life, quality improvements in all aspects of production, supply chain infrastructure at a global level, and all aspects of logistics and lifetime cost reductions. China has stepped up to the plate vigorously backed by its state subsidy, while some European and Asian countries have matched it, even though not at China's thrust and pace. Many countries of the world, the fast growing and even follower nations are experiencing severe energy shortage. Even though carbon dumping legacy energy technologies based on fossil fuels like coal are still continuing, in the midst of international environmental sustainability outcry, green revolution is happening in parallel. Compared to other green technologies like solar thermal, wind, geothermal, solar photovoltaic (PV) technology has the distinct advantage of deployment from a few hundred watts to hundreds of megawatts and even gigawatts installations.
With R&D grants propelling the technology improvements, solar cell and panel manufacturing automation ever improving, thin film, mono and polycrystalline and even multi-junction options have been making the solar dream happen in USA, Europe, Asia, and South America. It should be particularly noted that the tropical and subtropical regions have been barely explored for carpeting the land with solar deployments, with special mention of Africa still the unexplored and industrially unexploited for solar energy.

The speaker will present a holistic and comprehensive overview and a balanced vision of the future, recommending a list of initiatives for the solar industry.

Government to University to Industry (GUI)

USA National Strategy in Multiple Verticals

NOTE: Applicable to all countries

Dear High Technology Subject Matter and Strategy Experts

I admire your great work and track record over the years. I am interested in Government to University to Industry (GUI) strategic cooperation and business opportunities, particularly strategy to implementation, followed by ongoing nurturing of the different GUI relationships. Please understand that GUI is a three-way collaboration or Triangular Relationships.

A nation, its states, and provinces can grow at an accelerated and sustained pace, through the GUI relationships. I have lectured on a series of topics in GUI in many parts of the USA, EU, Asia, Australia and NZ, leading different subject matter experts specialized in different technologies, industry verticals, and government departmental functions. We lectured, followed by expert and decision maker caucus all across the globe. The real beneficiaries of GUI are the citizens of the state or country. GUI is easily extendable to multi-country consortia. Once the triangular strategic planning events are held, the results and resolutions are shared with constituent companies, governmental organizations, and educational institutions. Further steps include feedback and buy-in from the grassroots of the GUI participants/beneficiaries. Incorporating and prioritizing is the next step to finalize the national or state level GUI, further followed by detailed action plans for different verticals. Regular status and review events and summits are held in different parts of the state or country, with terminal events annually.

I have developed strategy documents and presentations in a few verticals for GUI relationships. I want to explore and discuss ways to work collaboratively with you and your team. Feel free to nominate experts and decision makers in your network.

Definitions:
G for Government: Includes all types of government agencies / departments. As we move to later stages of GUI, all indenture levels of the different government agencies will get actively involved in the strategies for their focus areas and surely in implementation and feedback.

U for Universities, Colleges & Schools: Includes all types of educational institutions from K - 12, colleges, vocational schools and universities, both private and government funded.  R&D functions and organizations of the educational institutions will be integral parts. As we move to later stages of GUI, all departments and indenture levels of the different  educational institutions will get actively involved in the strategies for their focus areas and surely in implementation and feedback.

I for Industries: Includes all types and sizes of companies, in all industries. The startup, early stage, small, & medium businesses (SMB), large private and public companies are all represented in the I. R&D functions and organizations of I will be integral parts. As we move to later stages of GUI, all companies in the industrial infrastructure will get actively involved in the strategies for their focus areas and surely in implementation and feedback.

Here are some of the areas that I have developed strategy documents and presentations. Additional areas will be added. You are welcome to pick one or more in your interest areas, or add areas to the list that represents your areas of interest.
